Grade Placement

In order to equip students for success, elementary and middle school students will be placed based on the following criteria: their most recent successfully completed grade level or equivalent, interview with school staff, and placement tests.
High school students are placed based on completed credits fulfilling AISN’s graduation requirements. Students enrolling in high school after the start of the school year may receive full or partial credit for classes that they started or recently completed at their previous school.
English language learners (students whose primary language is not English) enrolling in Grade 1 or higher are required to take an English language test. This will determine if the student needs additional support in English. Students entering Grade 9 or 10 must demonstrate that they are proficient in English in order to succeed in the AISN high school program.
