High School
Our high school program includes grades 9-12. Our oldest students are given the widest range of opportunities we can provide, with dedicated staff working to push them to work their best and prepare them for college.
To enhance our high school offerings, AISN has a variety of programs to reach beyond Niger, most notably through our Virtual High School (VHS ) program. VHS is an accredited online school offering middle school and high school courses on a wide range of subjects, including Advanced Placement classes. VHS publishes a list of available classes, but students wishing to take an AP or other course through VHS which are not offered within the published courses, may also do so. Enrollment in VHS courses are done on a case by case basis to meet student needs, in consultation with our college counselor.
On our campus every day our high school students construct knowledge through critical thinking, use of primary and secondary sources, and hands-on activities that engage them with the content they need. Assessments are done based on clearly defined learning objectives and take the forms of exams, tests, quizzes, class work, and homework. Student learning is reported on a standard letter grade-scale.
We value the home-school partnership and we are committed to promoting a positive, collaborative and trusting environment for students to learn, teachers to grow, and parents to participate.
